Mother holding her newborn after a scheduled C-section in Fort Worth, captured in a calm and emotional birth photography moment.

There’s a common misconception that birth photography is only for unmedicated or vaginal births.
But that couldn’t be further from the truth.
A scheduled C-section is still:
a birth
a transformation
a life-changing moment
And your story deserves to be remembered just as deeply.

Every hospital has different policies when it comes to operating room access.
Sometimes photographers are allowed in.
Sometimes they are not.
But regardless of OR access, there is still so much that can be documented:
• preparation before surgery
• your partner by your side
• the anticipation before meeting your baby
• your baby’s first moments in recovery
• the first time you hold them
Your story is not limited to the operating room.

Some of the most emotional moments happen after surgery.
When everything slows down.
When you finally see your baby.
When you hold them for the first time.
When the reality settles in.
These moments are often:
quiet
emotional
overwhelming in the best way
And they are absolutely worth preserving.
Your Partner’s Experience Is Part of the Story Too

During a C-section, your partner often carries a unique role.
They may be:
the first to see the baby
the first to walk alongside them
the bridge between you and those first moments
Their experience matters.
And documenting that perspective adds depth to your story.
A Planned Birth Doesn’t Make It Less Meaningful
Just because your birth is scheduled…
doesn’t mean it’s less emotional.
less powerful.
or less worthy of being documented.
It simply means your story begins differently.
And it still deserves to be told fully.
